Aaron Hibben

Aaron Hibben is an accomplished computer scientist who while growing up never imagined writing as something of significance in his career path.  “I was good at writing code, but most people wouldn’t want to read that, and the people that do are pretty damn boring!”  He remembers being nervous about the first time he had to write an article for his company’s quarterly newsletter.  “The feedback I received was great and really helped grow my passion for the written word.”

With an undergraduate degree and an MBA from NYU, this 57 year old from Denver has always been fascinated by technology and its integration in the business world.  “While iPhones are great for watching people punch themselves in the face on youtube, technology has really changed the landscape in which business is conducted.”  Lately, he has stepped back from his sole focus on tech and has increased his concentration on economics and social policy.  He credits the current economic situation for peaking his interest and developing a better understanding of how we got to where we are and how we can best right the wrong.

Aaron’s writing accomplishments include authoring many whitepapers on improving engineering processes within information systems, contributing to his local newspaper in a monthly column, and editing the quarterly alumni newsletter for his college.  Outside of writing, Aaron has been a long term project manager and consultant working with Fortune 500 companies across the US and Europe.

“I am excited about the opportunity to better understand the needs, situations, and experiences of other people in my generation.  For too long Americans have sat back and thought that other people were driving this country.  It turns out they were in the driver’s seat, but mostly they were drunk and asleep at the wheel.  I look forward to helping form a community where we can come together as a collective whole and ultimately take on the tough tasks ahead of us with courage and perseverance.”
