I don't use it to play videogames, but I have recently purchased a Playstation 3.  Its great for Blu-ray movies and streaming netflix on demand.  Plus I guess the bonus upside is that when my grandchildren come over they can bring their games with them.

I am pretty anti-wii myself as I feel as though the controls lack precision…however i do have one cute mii i guess i'm not totally against it!
