SGMA FINDS TOP SPORT FOR BOOMERS SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL

The top sport for Baby Boomers is Slowpitch softball, according to a report by the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association.

The report found that 22.3 percent of Americans aged 45-plus participate regularly or frequently in slowpitch softball.

There are approximately 72 million Baby Boomers in America, according to the Population Reference Bureau. 

That means there are about 16 million Baby Boomers playing slowpitch softball in America.

The next three most popular team sports for Baby Boomers included: Beach volleyball (19.4 percent), Grass volleyball (16.1 percent), Court volleyball (11.7 percent).
