Howdy, y'all…

My name is David Howell, but here on the internet, since 1995, I've either been "Webrydr" or "Dalton." I have a couple of dead end emails I use now and then, as I imagine you do, too.

The folks who run this site were kind enough to ask me to be a "writer" for the site.  I sent a few things in, and I guess they figure my rants and rambles might strike a chord with some of you.  One can hope, anyway.

As for me, some details are likely in order. I'm 63, a veteran 'boomer.  Also a veteran of the Air Force, 20 years, Master Sergeant, worked in the medical field, then in computers before I punched out in 1987. Went to work for a defense software contractor the next week. That lasted 10 years.  Got divorced, kinda went crazy, reconciled with ex, moved to Florida, got married again, then divorced again, two years ago.  So, single, household of two blue and gold macaws, small dog, big cat.

I work for the state of Florida. Some of the writings I've done are very critical of the state, its conduct and behavior as an element in the global society.  More specifically, I've addressed, and will continue to address, the injustices and inhumane treatment suffered by persons wtih disabilities, the elderly and veterans…IN the state of Florida.

But not all the time.  My birds have taught me a lot over the last 10 years or so.  I like to write about them, their role in my life and mine in theirs. My observations on their behaviors, their intelligence, their extraordinary personalities. What it's LIKE to live with birds that are only a few generations from the wilds.  They are NOT pets!  They, for me, are companions. As such, they deserve many of the same considerations and respect I'd afford a two-legged companion.

So, heavy and light. Some in-between, I imagine.  I've written a lot of stuff over the last few years, so some of it is dated, and I'm weeding through what I have to find relevant stuff that will hopefully be at least a little bit interesting.

Be talkin' to you…………………………Webrydr
