That's why more than a few of us are pretty concerned about retirement. A lifetime of savings can evaporate over night. We boomers were used to our assets growing, and might have fancied ourselves as spenders. The last couple of years have certainly ruined that illusion. I guess that's why few of us plan to retire, at least not at the normal golden watch age.

Our home values and invesstment accounts dropped in value. Money in banks get so little interest while servicing debt is more expensive. What to do?

We were discussing this too.

I would have loved to short the market back in 2000 and go all-in last year.  Both were the beginning of spectacular runs to the downside and upside respectively!

As a amateur investor, I was relatively aware that yesterday (march 9th) marked the 12 year low on the S&P 500.

What I didn't realize is that the Nasdaq hit its all time high of 5,133 on March 10, 2000.

Funny how one week could have such disparate accomplishments.  Anyone good with patterns? Cool
