High-Tech Sleepwear Recharges Your Body

Have you ever told your kids or grandchildren that sleep is necessary because it lets us "recharge our batteries?" Babies and toddlers, even older kids, are known to fight sleep. If only they knew better! What wouldn't you give to be encouraged to sleep 12 hours a night?! If you've ever muttered that phrase to a curious (or stubborn) little mind, now those words could actually take on a more literal meaning.

A luxury sleepwear company called Lunya recently released a new pajama line, called Restore. The collection of loungewear is FDA-tested and approved as a sleep-enhancing medical device. The pajamas, like adults so often tell children about sleep, will essentially "recharge" the human body during sleep. How?

The sleepwear is made from a blend of Lunya's pima cotton fibers and Celliant, a fabric technology. Celliant absorbs body heat and converts it into a form of infrared energy, which is then reflected back into the skin and tissues. That energy helps rebuild and recharge your body while you're sleeping.

Celliant powered fabrics also increase oxygen levels in your body which helps your cells regenerate faster, which is why Lunya founder Ashley Merrill told Business Insider that wearing these pajamas will help "increase your energy, endurance, stamina, and performance and even help you recover faster from those tough workouts."

Pieces start at $68, so while pricey, it may be worth looking into if you're looking to improve the quality of your sleep. If you're not aware of just how important sleep is, read our article “For Your Own Good”: Why We NEED a Restful Night's Sleep.
